Max Payne 3: After The Fall

My last work was the miniseries Max Payne 3: After The Fall produced by Marvel and Rockstar games. There are 3 episodes of 12 pages each that I've drawn directly into digital, which has allowed me to apply different gray tones, textures, zip-a-tones, etc.. as usual in my latest works. The comic will be distributed for free online in PDF format. Now, the first chapter it's available for free download here or you can reading in the Marvel's interactive reader here.

Mi ultimo trabajo ha sido la miniserie Max Payne 3: After The Fall producida por Marvel y Rockstar games. Son 3 episodios de 12 páginas que he dibujado directamente en digital, lo que me ha permitido aplicar distintos tonos de gris, texturas tramas, etc. como viene siendo habitual en mis trabajos más recientes. El cómic se va a distribuir gratuitamente por internet en formato PDF. Ya esta disponible para descarga gratuita el primer capítulo aquí o lo podéis leer en el lector interactivo de Marvel aquí.

Este mes de abril han salido a la venta en España Flashpoint: Los Siete Secretos publicado por ECC y Marvel Zombies Supreme publicado por Panini.

Estaré firmando y haciendo dibujos en el stand de ECC, el jueves y viernes de 20 a 21h y el sábado de 19:30 a 21h.

Para ilustrar la noticia os dejo unos lápices de Marvel Zombies con una de las escenas que más satisfecho quedé y los layouts de 4 páginas de Secret Seven que quedaron sin publicar, porque al final George Pérez pudo terminar esas páginas a tiempo.

Illustrating that news you can see some Marvel Zombies Supreme pencils with one of the scenes that I was happier and some Secret Seven unpublished layouts, because at the end, George Pérez was able to complete his pages in time.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Illo

In April the great Cabinet of Dr. Caligari by Diego Olmos based on the classic expressionist movie will be reissued. It was the first release Diego's work and now it is reissued with retouched art, new pages and a collection of illos by different authors from whom I have the honor to be. Here's the pdf of the novelties of the publisher where you can find in page 8 more information about the Diego's comic .

El abril se reedita a la venta el estupendo Gabinete del Dr. Caligari de Diego Olmos basado en la clásica película expresionista. Fue la obra con la que Diego se dio a conocer y ahora se reedita con nuevas páginas, retocada y con una colección de ilustraciones de distintos autores entre los que tengo el honor de estar. Aquí tenéis el pdf de las novedades de la editorial donde en su página 8 podéis encontrar la información sobre el álbum de Diego.

2011 Best Comics

To make a list of my favorite comics of the year involves many aspects, not only the quality or enjoyment they have generated. As professional comic artist I can not ignore the influence of certain authors or the fact that I pay special attention to the American industrie because is the market for which I work. There are things on my list of 2010 or even earlier, because much of my readings are comics published in Spain in 2011. Also some, have not yet been published in Spain because I read the american edition. I tried also to avoid the reissues, so common in today's spanish market, but I have to emphasize that much of the things I enjoyed were precisely reissues.

En esto de hacer una lista de mis comics favoritos del año entran muchos aspectos, no sólo su calidad o el disfrute que me han generado. Dado que trabajo cómo dibujante profesional no puedo obviar la influencia que ejercen determinados autores o el hecho de que preste especial atención al mercado americano que es para el que trabajo. Gran parte de mis lecturas son material editado en España, por eso en mi lista hay cosas del 2010 o incluso anteriores. También algunas, aun no han sido editadas en España porque las he leido en la edicion americana. He intentado también evitar las reediciones, tan habituales en el actual mercado español, pero tengo que destacar que una gran parte de las cosas que más he disfrutado han sido precisamente reediciones.

MERRYFUCKIN'CRHISTMAS!

This year, I wanted to make a Christmas card. Maybe because I'm unemployed and bored. The year began with a very good job prospects, with interesting publishing projects that ended up not being so much, for editorial decisions, at least questionable. Hope that the new year bring me a project that finally make the "comicfuckin'goodbook" I think I can do. At least, on a personal, I can not ask for more... 2011 brought the best gift: my son Saúl.

Este año si que me ha apetecido hacer una felicitación navideña. Será porque estoy sin trabajo y me aburro. El año comenzó con unas muy buenas perspectivas laborales, con proyectos editoriales interesantes, que terminaron no siéndolo tanto por decisiones editoriales cuando menos discutibles. Esperemos que el nuevo año me traiga un proyecto con el que por fin hacer "el tebeo de puta madre" que creo puedo hacer. Al menos, en lo personal no puedo pedir más... el 2011 me trajo el mejor regalo: mi hijo Saúl.
